The transient was discovered on 9th January 2023 at 10:56:38 (MJD 59953.46) by ZTF as ZTF23aaaepzi with a discovery magnitude of g = 16.76. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.036.
Sherlock Contextual Classification
Prediction: Supernova
The transient is possibly associated with CGCG250-013; a J=11.93 mag galaxy found in the NED_D/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. Its located 3.37" N, 0.03" W (2.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 154.0 Mpc(z=0.036) implies a m - M = 35.94.
